Three brand new releases will duke it out this week to fight to top this weekend's box office. And it will be hard one on who will reign supreme: a throwback to the 80s action movies, a chick flick, and a geek superhero movie. So, which crowd will rush into theaters more? A tough, tough call.

The Expendables promises to pay homage to action movies of the past, just before the turn of the millennium, where action stars are roided up,  giving crappy, yet somewhat funny one-liners, filled with machismo, super-long hand-to-hand combats, and the budget pretty much goes to the explosives and filming in exotic locations. The movie stars some of the biggest names in the genre like Sylvester Stallone, Jet Li, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Mickey Rourke, Randy Couture, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and Terry Crews, while Bruce Willis, and Arnold Schwarzenegger are set to make cameo appearances in the movie. The action film is also written and directed by Stallone and has an estimated budget of $85 million for production cost. It follows a team of mercenaries hired to overthrow an evil dictator of a South American country.

Eat, Pray, Love has a lot of things in favor of the movie. First off, it seems like the original comeback of Julia Roberts, the America's sweetheart. She is back in her true form with her signature wide smile and her sunny presence. Second, it is based on a best selling memoir of the same name by American author Elizabeth Gilbert. Oprah even dedicated two episodes of her show for the book. It is directed by Glee creator Ryawn Murphy, and we all know how big the TV musical is right now. Plus, it ios produced by another A-list star Brad Pitt. And fourth, it is about eating, praying, and finding love. Women will surely rush into theaters to catch this one.

But let's not forget Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. It based on a popular comic book series Scott Pilgrim by Scott Lee O'Malley, so fanboys will most like line up to catch this film. It stars geek poster boy Michael Cera, who will fight against the seven evil exes with superpowers to win the heart of the girl of his dream. It is directed by Edgar Wright, who pretty much also has his own cult following with movies like Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz.

Catch all these films in theaters on August 13 but you can also watch The Expendables online.
