DIY Paper ‘Star Wars’ Snowflakes Posted: 04 Dec 2010 07:00 PM PST The holiday season is upon us, which means there's lots of decorating to be done. One of the many fun holiday activities for kids to do is to make homemade paper snowflakes. Now you can make your very own Star Wars-themed paper snowflakes! Just follow these instructions, which include templates, to make your very own paper snowflakes: one is for Darth Vader; the other has Boba Fett and Clone Troopers. Both have the imperial logo in the center. It's been a while, but just might have to break out my scissors to try this one out (or get my Mom to do it, yeah, I think that's the way to go) [...] |
‘Ten Great Years’ Of The Beatles Poster Posted: 04 Dec 2010 05:52 PM PST Artist Max Dalton has created a limited edition poster called Ten Great Years, which has the various versions of The Beatles from their early years in the 1960s through their final years together in the early 1970s. The 16 x 21.3-inch poster is a giclée print on ultra premium paper with a limited edition at 500. You can purchase it here for $59.99. Check out the poster here at right (click for larger, full view). Of the design, the artist said, I guess any explanation about the characters of this illustration will be redundant. The greatest band of all times is now on this limited edition giclée print. [...] |

You Nostalgia, You Lose: Norwegian TV Advert Unites Celebrity Icons In A Blast From The Past Posted: 04 Dec 2010 01:53 PM PST I have no idea how these folks managed to do this, but the people behind Norwegian television show Gylne Tider somehow gathered a whole group of celebrity icons from the Seventies through the Eighties and into the Nineties to sing/lip dub Let It Be by The Beatles. Essentially, this video below is a whole bunch of WTF mixed with a session of "Where Are They Now?" -- or more accurately, a video version of the 4chan game "You Nostalgia, You Lose". Featured in the video are a few of our geek icons, such as Dee Snider from Twisted Sister, Lou Ferrigno (The Incredible Hulk), Roger Moore (James Bond), Robert Englund (Freddy Krueger from A Nightmare on Elm Street), Mickey Rourke (Whiplash from Iron Man 2), and Dolph Lundgren (The Punisher, Masters of the Universe, Rocky IV, The Expendables). Not only that, but the video also features people, like Alfonso Ribeiro from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, who have been subjects of numerous internet memes over the years. This could also be the last official media appearance of the brilliant Leslie Nielsen who sadly passed away recently [...] |
DC’s Next Television Project To Be ‘Raven’ From The Teen Titans Posted: 04 Dec 2010 10:04 AM PST DC are setting their sights on an additional television show for one of their characters, but one you might not suspect to be a potential candidate for a series: Raven from Teen Titans. The speculation and discussion online at the moment appears to indicate that Raven is being viewed as a potential replacement for the highly successful Smallville series. For those unfamiliar, Raven is a character from the Teen Titans team, lead by Robin when he is not bouncing around in the Batcave with Bruce Wayne. Raven is said to be half-human and half-demon, and is always portrayed as enrobed in a hooded purple cloak. She can mentally project her soul away from her body, and has a extrasensory ability to read the minds of others [...] |
