PAUL-Banner Movie Poster

Paul

UK release February 14, 2011
U.S. release March 18, 2011

PROBING INVESTIGATION

When considering writing a review for you, my American/worldwide cohorts, for the UK release of Paul, a whole month in advance of the U.S. screening, I had a problem. Every other bloody magazine/media has reviewed it... (and with reference to the current Empire mag, who I won't plagiarize but I will say this: RESEARCH! Their article on Captain America was not as informed as my article. I was there man, you don't know, I got the pictures man, 5 months before!!)

...and stole the best/cheesiest headlines: 'Alien Nation', 'E.T. Rider', and 'Close Encounters of the NERD Kind'.

Bastards. I spent long arduous seconds creating 'From OuterSpaced', but that's the kind of genius I am. I'm also an insider. Not a crew member of said film, no, I'm that type of Geek that knows enough about UFOs to be an expert. But that's my bias, especially during the 1990s when you couldn't avoid the stuff. And so in the course of this article, I scraped together the remnants of my vast DVD collection, including Spaced (see what I did there!?) Shaun of the Dead/Hot Fuzz boxset (£5 – Bargain) and purchased the Simon Pegg autobiography Nerd Do Well to look for clues that would lead to Paul [...]

‘Futurama’ Passes 10 Million On Facebook; New Images From Upcoming Season Released!

Posted: 01 Mar 2011 11:15 AM PST

Some exciting times are upon we the fans of Futurama. Since the show's glorious return, it has put up some pretty strong numbers for Comedy Central and the new season (originally the second half of last season) is set to premiere this upcoming June!

But it's the social network itself, Facebook, where Futurama is really dominating in popularity. The animated series from Matt Groening and David X. Cohen's official Facebook page just recently got its 10 millionth "Like" -- more than Angry Birds, Pearl Jam, and NPR...COMBINED.

In celebration of this momentous occasion, two new images from one of the upcoming episodes titled "Neutopia!" have been released by Comedy Central, and you can see them by clicking on over to the other side now!

The only question I have is: if there's now TEN MILLION fans of Futurama on Facebook, where are these people when the show is on?! In its return to TV it nailed almost 3 million viewers and set records, while the season average settled in at around 2 million. [...]

‘Spartacus’ & ‘Battlestar Galactica’ Star Lucy Lawless To Voice Character In ‘Hunted: The Demon’s Forge’

Posted: 01 Mar 2011 09:30 AM PST

Bethesda Softworks has announced that Lucy Lawless is set to lend her voice to the upcoming video game title from inXile Entertainment, Hunted: The Demon's Forge.

Lawless is best know for her roles in Xena: Warrior Princess, the hit Syfy series Battlestar Galactica, and most recently on the bloody and brilliant Starz original series, Spartacus: Blood and Sand. In the video game she'll be voicing a character by the name of Seraphine, a spirit guide who lures the game's main two characters (Caddoc and E'lara) into a dangerous adventure by promising them riches and power.

Of the announcement, Lawless said "Hunted is an incredibly dark, intense game and I'm delighted to have the opportunity to work on such a thrilling project. After playing the heroine for so long it's refreshing to portray such a villainous, seductive temptress!"

You can see a trailer for Hunted below if you're unfamiliar with the game! [...]

Please Let It Be So: Quentin Tarantino’s Next Film To Be A Spaghetti Western

Posted: 01 Mar 2011 07:43 AM PST

It's no secret that director Quentin Tarantino has been heavily influenced by both kung-fu movies and spaghetti westerns of the '60s and '70s. We saw him dive into the kung-fu with Kill Bill and he already delivered on the movie fans have been begging him for for years, Inglourious Basterds, so the absolute perfect next project for him would be a western, naturally.

Django and Die Hard 2 star Franco Nero was talking recently and happened to mention that he was doing a new spaghetti western with Tarantino that also involved Keith Carradine and Treat Williams. It was unclear at first whether this was true or not, or what was actually entailed in the possible project. This led AICN to do a little digging, and while all details are still a little uncertain they were able to come up with some very exciting information.

First of all, they confirmed that Tarantino is putting together his next movie and it will indeed be a spaghetti western, which could be one of the greatest pieces of news ever for fans of the director and the western genre. Adding to that, their source says that Quentin already has one star locked up: his Basterds villain and Oscar winner Christoph Waltz. [...]
