Charlie Sheen Returns to TV in Anger Management

Posted: 19 Jul 2011 10:53 AM PDT

The "winning warlock" got a new project and it is something familiar to him.

Charlie Sheen is returning to the small screen via a new sitcom, "Anger Management". The new gig is based on the 2003 film of the same name starring Adam Sandler and Jack Nicholson.

The former Two and a Half Men star will play the role of an anger management therapist who could probably use some anger management himself.

Teaming up with producer Joe Roth, who already established a deep relationship with Sheen after working together in the films like   "Major League," "Young Guns" and "Three Musketeers."
"I chose 'Anger Management' because, while it might be a big stretch for me to play a guy with serious anger management issues, I think it is a great concept," Sheen said in a press release by Lionsgate TV. "It also provides me with real ownership in the series, a certain amount of creative control and the chance to be back in business with one of my favorite movie producers of all time, Joe Roth."
The said project has not been picked up by a network.

'Patrol ng Pilipino' tackles PCSO Controversy

Posted: 19 Jul 2011 12:38 AM PDT

The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) is a government agency that conducts charity programs to provide medical assistance and other services but it seems it is also being tagged as the source of corruption for some politicians. ABS-CBN's "Patrol ng Pilipino" investigates the PCSO controversies and the people behind it.

ABS-CBN correspondent Kiko Faulve visits the diocese of the bishops involved in the scandal in which they were found to have received sports utility vehicles (SUVs) from the PCSO.

Meanwhile, ABS-CBN correspondent Nico Baua investigates the situation involving the three depressed areas in Metro Manila that have been long denied by PCSO of their request for ambulances.

The controversies are being linked to the Arroyo administration and her allies.

"Patrol ng Pilipino" airs Tuesday (July 19) after "Bandila" on ABS-CBN.

Paula Abdul teaches Sportsmanship!

Posted: 18 Jul 2011 06:38 PM PDT

Known for being a sweet compassionate talker, Paula Abdul has expressed her sympathy and support  to Japanese team who won the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup beating the United States. Paula was very annoyed over some of the disappointing  remarks tweeted by some individuals.

The 49-year-old singer tweeted,
"the #racist garbage some people are vomiting on twitter over the #worldcupfinal is insensitive & unwelcome. NOT the spirit of sportsmanship."
Japan beats the US in a stunning and dramatic penalty shootout victory. The world cup win symbolizes unity and hope to the Japanese people who are still dealing with the aftermath of the earthquake and tsunami that devastated the country.

Using the word racist seems too much but Paula Abdul is right about the essence of true sports.
