Golden Globe

The 69th annual Golden Globe Awards were just handed out, and, as always, you can see the full list of winners right here at Geeks of Doom!

Of course one of the primary reasons that people watched the show is to see what host Ricky Gervais would say in his third turn. His opening monologue was relatively tame compared to what most were expecting, but still pretty funny. [...]

Goosebumps

Remember Goosebumps, the series of horror books aimed at youths and written by author R.L. Stine? The books were mostly popular in the '90s but still continue to be made in one form or another to this day.

As it turns out, Columbia Pictures acquired the rights to about 50 of Stine's works back in 2008 and has been developing a feature adaptation of the books since then. [...]

Jeffrey Dean Morgan

Over the past few years, while they haven't come into the fold in the numbers one would truly like to see (I could probably count the amount of films directed by them in 2011 on two hands) female filmmakers have not only begun to earn more respect in the film world, but hell, they've even won Oscars.

And sure, she may not be a director as deft as someone like Kathryn Bigelow, but one of the more interesting female filmmakers around is one Karyn Kusama. [...]

A&E Developing ‘Psycho’ Prequel Series ‘Bates Motel’

Psycho

Somewhere, Alfred Hitchcock is slowly rotating in his grave.

Plans are afoot to bring the Psycho films to television in a predictable manner. Inspired perhaps by the recent wave of successful cable horror shows like True Blood and American Horror Story, A&E is developing an original series based on the 1960 suspense classic and grandfather of the slasher movie. [...]

Star Wars The Phantom Menace 3D

Five new posters for the upcoming 3D reissue of Star Wars: Episode 1: The Phantom Menace have been released.

You can check them out here below.

Darth Maul has been the major focus of the poster campaign for the first in George Lucas' grand plan to re-release all six of the Star Wars films in 3D. The designs of the posters stray from the established look of the artwork done for the initial release of the prequel trilogy by the now-retired Drew Struzan, but these are some striking images. [...]
