Watch ‘South Park’ Reveal The Dangers Of Leaving The Toilet Seat Up Posted: 15 Mar 2012 08:00 PM PDT Last night's episode of South Park really hit home with me, as it tackles an issue that's near and dear to me: The dangers of leaving the toilet seat up. In the episode, titled "Reverse Cowboy," Clyde, one of the gang's schoolmates, keeps forgetting to put the toilet seat down, which brings upon the wrath of his angered mother. One day, Clyde's irresponsible behavior leads to a horrible tragedy that will forever change the way the people of South Park go to the bathroom. You can watch clips from the episode here below; the first one has Clyde being reprimanded by his mother; the other shows the tragedy that happens afterward - think Signs [...] |
DC Comics To Offer Exclusive Batman & Superman Prints At WonderCon Posted: 15 Mar 2012 07:00 PM PDT DC Comics and Graphitti Designs announced today that the two are offering up some exclusives DC art prints for sale to attendees at this weekend's WonderCon in Anaheim, CA. The three available prints feature stylish renditions of the worlds of two of the publishing company's most iconic characters: Superman and Batman. The first print is done in an almost blueprint/schematic style that showcases several different Batmobiles, with the phrase "Choose Your Ride" at the bottom and would be an excellent gift for your favorite Geeks of Doom writer who also happens to have a birthday coming up the weekend after this convention. Watch The Full Trailer For Tim Burton’s ‘Dark Shadows’ Posted: 15 Mar 2012 06:05 PM PDT Yesterday saw the first tiny bit of footage from Tim Burton's upcoming big-screen adaptation Dark Shadows. Now, the full theatrical trailer has been released, and you can watch it here below. Dark Shadows stars Johnny Depp as the centuries' old vampire Barnabas Collins, who's returned from the grave in the year 1972 to take over his family's estate in Maine. The film also stars Helena Bonham-Carter, Michelle Pfeiffer, Eva Green, Jackie Earle Haley, and Chloe Moretz [...] |
Watch Now: Super Happy Awesome ‘The Avengers’ Japanese Trailer Fun Show! Posted: 15 Mar 2012 05:00 PM PDT In less than two months The Avengers will assemble on thousands of movie theater screens around the world. It will have been nearly five decades since the legendary Stan Lee and Jack Kirby brought together Earth's mightiest heroes in the pages of the Avengers comic book series, and five summers since the groundwork was laid for the greatest superheroes in the Marvel Universe to team up on the big screen in the first Iron Man movie. What is the recurring theme of this paragraph? The Avengers has been a long time in the making, longer than anyone ever thought possible. In fact there was a time not long ago when the mere mention of an Avengers cinematic epic adventure was met with stifled laughter and rolling eyeballs. [...] |
Check Out Hanie Mohd’s Wonder Woman Redesign Posted: 15 Mar 2012 04:00 PM PDT I've said this before, but Project: Rooftop is a site that you need to add to your RSS readers. It's consistently one of the best places to check out fan redesigns on popular, and sometimes unpopular, characters from comic books, and Wednesday's installment of Wonder Woman from Hanie Mohd is no different. Artist Hanie Mohd submitted an excellent redesign on the Amazonian warrior princess Wonder Woman in a more off-duty/evening gown attire, and it's simply gorgeous artwork. It's a simple idea, change Wonder Woman's outfit to a dress and watch the magic, and while I'm sure someone in the history of the character has used this idea, none stand out to me like Mohd's design. Maybe it's the sky-style of the flowing dress, maybe it's just that it's that good, but either way, Mohd's design is awesome, which you can check out here below [...] |
Watch Now: ‘Total Recall’ Remake International Promo With First Footage Posted: 15 Mar 2012 03:00 PM PDT Not much has been heard or seen about the remake of Total Recall directed by Len Wiseman (Underworld) with Colin Farrell in the role Arnold Schwarzenegger played in the 1990 Paul Verhoeven-directed sci-fi action smash since it went into production last year, outside of a few promotional and behind-the-scenes photos and a presentation at the 2011 San Diego Comic-Con. With the movie scheduled for release later this summer, the lack of even a teaser trailer or poster is troubling for the latest cinematic adaptation of Philip K. Dick's short story "We Can Remember It For You Wholesale." Today, we have an international promo video featuring snippets of footage from the new Total Recall. You can watch it here below [...] |
Posted: 15 Mar 2012 02:00 PM PDT Charismagic #5 Created & Written by Vince Hernandez Character Designs & Illustrations by Khary Randolph Additional Pencil Assists by Lori Hanson Colors by Emilio Lopez Letters by Josh Reed Covers by Khary Randolph & Emilio Lopez, Siya Oum, and Nicola Hwang Aspen Comics Release Date: March 7, 2012 Cover Price: $3.50 One thing you can always expect from Aspen Comics is that they will be visually appealing. Charismagic #5 is no exception that rule, not on any level. I have never read nor reviewed any other issues in this series, but it definitely looks like an Aspen book and one that would have pleased the founder, Michael Turner (R.I.P.). In the sky above Costa Rica, we find Samsun doing battle with a phoenix (one of the Guardians of the wizard Kon). We quickly move to see Hank, our hero, being directed by Sudana to focus his magical powers. After a small, but meaningful, mistake he finds that his abilities are far beyond anything he had ever imagined. Sparkles and the Guardians make their way towards the Temple, meeting up with Hank and Sudana on the way [...] |
HBO Cancels ‘Luck’ After Death Of Third Horse Posted: 15 Mar 2012 01:00 PM PDT Just a month and a half ago it was announced that HBO had ordered a second season for their horse racing drama Luck. Now HBO has announced that production on the show, which starred Dustin Hoffman and Nick Nolte, has been shut down permanently. The decision comes on the heels of an incident which saw the euthanization of a horse---the third such incident in just a little over one season. The show was in the middle of filming the second episode of their second season when the latest accident occurred. At first the plan was to just film scenes without any horses involved, but clearly no adequate solutions to solve the problem were figured out. [...] |
Comic Review: The Magdalena #11 Posted: 15 Mar 2012 12:00 PM PDT The Magdalena #11 Written by Ron Marz Pencils by Nelson Blake II and David Marquez Inks by Sal Regla and David Marquez Color by Dave McCaig Letters by Troy Peteri Cover by Nelson Blake II, Sal Regla and Dave McCaig Top Cow Productions, Inc. Release Date: March 7, 2012 Cover Price: $3.99 I have been a fan of Top Cow comics for years, unfortunately I have never had the chance to read this series before. Lucky for me, though, Dave3 sent the first ten issues to catch me up for The Magdalena #11. Like most comics from this company, it rocks! Plus, in this issue, we have Sara Pezzini... you know, the freaking Witchblade! Our story for this issue revolves around Patience (The Magdalena) and Kristof (a Vatican agent) searching for not only a piece of the one true Cross, but also for the freshly stolen Spear of Destiny. Knowing she needed help, Patience contacted Sara for assistance. Not just the bearer of the Witchblade, Sara is also a detective... and pretty handy to have around [...] |
Dustin Nguyen Teams With Scott Snyder For New ‘American Vampire’ Miniseries Posted: 15 Mar 2012 11:00 AM PDT Vertigo Comics announced on Tuesday that Scott Snyder would be bringing fan favorite Dustin Nguyen on art duties for the brand new American Vampire miniseries Lord of Nightmares. American Vampire is quite simply a beast. Telling the tales of well, American vampires, this series has helped the effort to redefine the idea of the vampire in modern popular culture and in comics, specifically. It's brutal, it's violent, it's scary, but most importantly, it's good. [...] |

Comic Review: Vampirella vs. Dracula #2 Posted: 15 Mar 2012 09:00 AM PDT Vampirella Vs. Dracula #2 Written by Joe Harris Art by Ivan Rodriguez Colors by Adriano Lucas Letters by Marshall Dillon Cover by Joseph Michael Linsner Dynamite Entertainment Release Date: March 7, 2012 Cover Price: $3.99 Ever wonder what would have happened if things were slightly different in the old tale of Dracula? Well, this series explores the concept of it all being a repetitive loop, one where things play out slightly different each time, with the characters sometimes being unaware of what is coming to pass. Add to this timeless tale a new entity, in the form of Vampirella, and you get some very different results. Vampirella Vs. Dracula #2 involves the meeting of the two vampires as well as some distinct changes to the plot [...] |
‘Jericho’ Writers Hired For Brian K. Vaughan’s ‘Y: The Last Man’ Movie Posted: 15 Mar 2012 08:01 AM PDT Much time has passed since we last heard about the always coming but never arriving movie adaptation of Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerra's incredible comic book series, Y: The Last Man. Back in November of 2010 it looked like the long-attached director/star duo of D.J. Caruso and Shia LaBeouf were out and that The Incredible Hulk and Clash of the Titans director Louis Leterrier was a candidate to take over. [...] |
