Netflix Review: The Last Circus Posted: 20 Apr 2012 05:20 PM PDT The Last Circus Netflix Streaming DVD | Blu-ray Directed by Álex de la Iglesia Starring Carlos Areces, Carolina Bang, Antonio de la Torre Martín, Manuel Tallafé Magnet Releasing Originally Released: September 7, 2010 Imagine, for a moment, if you combined Frank Castle aka The Punisher from the Marvel Universe, with The Joker from Batman in the DC Universe. Now: visualize there being two of these insane clowns fighting each other... and that is essentially what The Last Circus is. And it is conceivably one of the most demented, disturbing movies I've ever seen, and would easily fit into my "Top 10 Most Fucked Up Movies Of All Time." But when I say, "Fucked Up," I mean that in a delectable manner, because this film is both a tormenting and challenging, yet thoroughly enjoyable experience [...] |
Guy Pearce Joins The Cast Of ‘Iron Man 3′ Posted: 20 Apr 2012 04:20 PM PDT Almost two weeks ago we brought you the news that Oscar-winner Sir Ben Kingsley had been cast as the yet-to-be-named villain in next summer's mighty Marvel superhero sequel Iron Man 3. Today another high-caliber acting talent has joined the movie's increasingly impressive cast as Guy Pearce, most recently seen kicking interstellar ass in the sci-fi action flick Lockout, has signed on to play geneticist Dr. Aldrich Killian. Killian was an integral character in "Extremis," the six-issue Iron Man comic arc penned by Warren Ellis that is said to be the inspiration for Iron Man 3 [...] |

Red Hot Chili Peppers To Release Digital-Only Covers EP ‘We Salute You’ Posted: 20 Apr 2012 02:00 PM PDT Yesterday I wrote that though the Red Hot Chili Peppers were just inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame, to a early fan like me, they will always be four guys with socks on their dicks. Now, the band has announced that in honor of their recent induction, they will be releasing a digital-only 6-song EP of cover tunes, called We Salute You. The EP, which will be available online starting May 1, 2012, has songs from previous Hall Of Fame inductees which the band was musically influenced by: The Ramones, Iggy & The Stooges, Neil Young, David Bowie, The Beach Boys, and Dion and the Belmonts. ‘God Of War 4′ Accidentally Confirmed; Trailer For ‘Ascension’ Released Posted: 20 Apr 2012 12:00 PM PDT A fourth title in the God of War franchise (of the primary games, anyway) has been fully expected since God of War III came and went, with whispers of it picking up recently after a tease by Sony led many to believe it would be for God of War IV. But before Sony could make the big reveal, Amazon made a bit of a woopsie by putting the game up on their site a day early (pre-order now), accidentally confirming what many were already suspecting. Greg Ham From Men at Work Found Dead Posted: 20 Apr 2012 11:00 AM PDT This has not been a good week for the entertainment world folks. Dick Clark. Jonathon Frid. Levon Helm. And now, another death in that world has hit upon us. This time, it's Greg Ham, who you may not know by name, but you certainly know him by ear as the man who played the saxophone for the Australian 1980s pop band, Men at Work, whose signature notes on their smash "Who Can It Be Now?" was as memorable and guiltily pleasurable as another song with an instantly recognizable sax pattern, Wham's "Careless Whisper." Ham also played flute and his opening notes on their other smash hit "Down Under" is also firmly etched in the consciousness of all who were there in the 1980s and the generations that followed. The LA Times reports that Ham was found dead on April 19th by two friends who grew concerned after not hearing from him for about a week. His cause of death is still undetermined. In a press release given to Fox News, lead singer of Men at Work, Colin Hay, stated that "We played in a band and conquered the world together.... I love him very much, he's a beautiful man." [...] |

The actor, best known for his role as Hikaru Sulu, helmsman of the USS Enterprise in the original Star Trek, turns 75 today. In honor of Takei's birthday, the geeky band Five Year Mission recorded a song and made a very cool video for the occasion, touting Sulu as the "23rd century's samurai from outer space." Takei delightfully shared the video on his prolific Facebook page, stating "This may be the best birthday video ever. I'm smiling ear to ear." You can watch the video here below [...] |

High Adams Media Release date: October 15, 2011 Cover Price: $19.95 Fittingly wrapped in a large Ziploc baggie, The Big Bag of Weed is both a delightful trilogy of gateway books for the novice stoner and a buzz-inducing trip down memory lane for the veteran pothead.
