Lebanese Government Filing Legal Action Against 'Homeland' Posted: 19 Oct 2012 11:03 AM PDT The Lebanese government expressed strong objection against the award-winning drama-thriller series "Homeland"! Lebanese Tourism Minister Fadi Abboud told The Associated Press on Thursday that the government and the people are upset about the portrayal of Beirut. They are now considering a lawsuit as the show tagged Beirut as a city of terrorists plus the "Homeland" production used the Israeli city of Tel Aviv to stand in for Beirut. "It showed Hamra Street with militia roaming in it. This does not reflect reality. It was not filmed in Beirut and does not portray the real image of Beirut," Abboud explained pointing out Hamra as a business neighborhood and not a terrorists ground. The Emmy-winning US series started the second season last September 30, 2012. We all know Israel and Lebanon are opposite in many issues and ways but it seems the burning flame just ignited more.
