The Hobbit Cast

For those of you just dying to feast your eyes on the first images of the cast of The Hobbit in costume, proving once and for all that yes, they are really making this movie...well, you're going to have to wait a little longer.

Instead, 14 members of director Peter Jackson's cast -- 13 of which will be dwarves, 1 a familiar hobbit -- met together for a press conference before filming begins on March 21. Attendees included star Martin Freeman, who's set to play the main hobbit himself, Bilbo Baggins. He was joined by the likes of James Nesbitt, Richard Armitage, Aidan Turner, William Kircher, Rob Kazinsky, Peter Hambleton, Graham McTavish, John Callen, Jed Brophy, Mark Hadlow, and Adam Brown, among others.

At the meeting some images were snapped, naturally, giving us one of our first cast photos, which you can see above. You can also find out where to see a video of the press conference by continuing on below now [...]

Dead Reckoning

With the 11th Southern Vampire Mysteries book, Dead Reckoning, arriving this May, author Charlaine Harris is starting to think about putting an end to the series, which spawned the popular HBO television series True Blood.

In a recent interview with Hero Complex, Harris confessed that the property has taken over her life and that she'll probably only do two more books in the series, which is also referred to as the Sookie Stackhouse or True Blood series.

"Truthfully, the next two books will probably be the last two books in the series," Harris said last week. "I still love Sookie, but I'm beginning to want to write something else, and Sookie's kind of taken over my life. I was able to write other things for the first few years I was involved in Sookie, but then after the start of the television show she took over so much of my time because of my increased publicity obligations that it's been very hard to write other things, and I really need to do that."
