So, let's take a look into the depths of their pull list, grab some issues and we'll let YOU know what the top books to look forward to are for the week of March 30, 2011. Single issues and trades, they're all here.

SINGLE ISSUES

Jimmy Olsen One Shot

Jimmy Olsen One-Shot (DC Comics - $5.99) - Formerly a back-up story from Paul Cornell's run on Action Comics, the team of Nick Spencer and RB Silva have put together a complete 80 page tale that brings Jimmy Olsen back into the public eye with open arms to the Silver Age. I've been dying for this to come out since DC nixed all of the back up titles. This is definitely a purchase that I can't recommend enough. And the fact that Amanda Conner did the cover doesn't hurt its hopes at being purchased by me [...]

Trailer For MTV’s ‘Teen Wolf’ TV Series Is Not What You Expected

Posted: 29 Mar 2011 08:43 PM PDT

A trailer has been released for the new MTV series, Teen Wolf, which of course is based on the '80s title of the same name starring Michael J. Fox.

Because of the association, many (myself included) just assumed that this was going to be some kind of wacky High School Musical deal with prepubescent tween werewolves. But to what could be considered great shock, the trailer for the new show doesn't play anything like Fox's van-surfing high school basketball hero version. In fact, it may actually look...somewhat decent.

Now, let's now get too far ahead of ourselves. This new Teen Wolf still looks like a Vampire Diaries-level werewolf show, but it is a hell of a lot better looking than was once assumed. I can't say I'll be rushing to watch it myself, but you just might.

Be sure to click on over to the other side to watch the trailer for yourselves, and be sure to share your thoughts below! [...]

‘Monsters Inc. 2′ Gets An Official Title; Will Release In 2012

Posted: 29 Mar 2011 07:16 PM PDT

As most of you are well-aware, Pixar Animation has been on something on a sequel kick lately with the release of Toy Story 3, Cars 2 set to hit this summer, and the planned sequel to their 2001 hit Monsters Inc., which we now know will come next summer in 2012.

The Walt Disney Company, while at the CinemaCon convention currently taking place in Las Vegas, confirmed the release year as well as something that had been rumored since the beginning of January: that Monsters Inc. 2 would actually be a prequel (Read: Rumor For Your Thoughts: Will 'Monsters Inc. 2′ Be A Prequel?).

Disney announced that the prequel will be called Monsters University and that, just as the rumor claimed, the movie would follow Mike (Billy Crystal) and Sully (John Goodman) as they make their way through college, possibly as rivals. Also returning will be Randall, the villain from the first movie voiced by Steve Buscemi. [...]

Rockstar Video Game ‘L.A. Noire’ Is An Official Selection At The Tribeca Film Festival

Posted: 29 Mar 2011 06:37 PM PDT

In an unexpected bit of news, it's been announced that the upcoming Rockstar Games crime title, L.A. Noire, has officially been selected to the Tribeca Film Festival.

Yes, you read that correctly: a video game has been chosen as a selection at a film festival -- the first to achieve such an impressive feat. The game uses unbelievable performance capture technologies that present flawless facial expressions and lip synchronization unlike anything we've ever seen in a game. This plays into the game's crime solving gameplay, where you'll need to read many different people, decide whether they're telling the truth or not, and choose your questions carefully based on your reads.

On April 25, some world exclusive footage from the game will be shown to those who are in attendance at the festival's Tribeca Talks panel, followed by a live demonstration of one of the game's cases you'll have to solve.

Speaking on the announcement, Tribeca chief creative officer Geoff Gilmore said "What Rockstar and Team Bondi have accomplished with L.A. Noire is nothing less than groundbreaking. [...]

Comic Review: The Pound #1

The Pound, Issue #1

The Pound #1
Written by Stephan Nilson
Art by Karl Waller
Colors by Romulo Fajardo Jr
Lettering by Charles Pritchett
Frozen Beach Studios
Release date: March 30, 2011

I always like when a new horror comic comes around, and that's what we're getting with The Pound, a new series from Frozen Beach Studios. The Pound has a premise that I have kind of seen before, but is different enough for me latch on to. The Pound has a lot of great potential, and a first issue that sets everything up in a nice way and gets the mystery going.

The issue starts with a bit of horror, as we see the standard girl in peril in a dark alley, until she is rescued by a couple of werewolves. We then cut to Scott and Howie, a couple of exterminators who lose their jobs in a round of layoffs, but decide to pull themselves up and start their own extermination company. A couple of weeks later, the company has been started, and the pair run into a case that may be more than they can handle. Where this case will lead them is anyone's guess [...]

First Trailer For Paul W.S. Anderson’s ‘The Three Musketeers’ Is Here

Posted: 29 Mar 2011 04:33 PM PDT

The first trailer for director Paul W.S. Anderson's new action movie, The Three Musketeers, has been released online.

The movie certainly looks interesting -- perhaps even a little too action-packed -- as you might expect from an Anderson flick. You can see for yourself by checking out the trailer below; share your thoughts in the comments!

The movie brings with it a new take on the classic Alexandre Dumas tale, and an impressive cast featuring Logan Lerman, Milla Jovovich, Matthew Macfadyen, Ray Stevenson, Luke Evans, Mads Mikkelson, Gabriella Wilde, Juno Temple, Orlando Bloom, and Christoph Waltz. [...]

Future Of DC Comics Movies Includes Batman Reboot, Justice League In 2013, Flash, Wonder Woman

Posted: 29 Mar 2011 03:27 PM PDT

The LA Times' Hero Complex was able to chat with Warner Brothers president Jeff Robinov recently, and he was able to share the future of their collaboration with DC Comics and what adaptations of their comic book properties are currently on the way.

The most exciting thing for fans, perhaps, is the reaffirmation of a Justice League movie being in the works. The project, which would see DC's top heroes joining forces on the big screen (to compete with Marvel's Avengers, which is set to arrive in 2012) has been talked about for a while, but Robinov says they want it to be ready to go for 2013. If all goes well, we would see Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Flash, Aquaman, and others fighting side-by-side.

Speaking of these many legendary characters, Robinoz shared that there are plenty of individual projects in the works as well. Interestingly enough, the one that stands out is none other than Batman. [...]

When The Shat Hits The Fans: William Shatner To Receive ‘Honorary Headbanger Award’

Posted: 29 Mar 2011 11:49 AM PDT

Revolver Golden Gods

Spock may not think the merging of Shatner and Metal to be a logical one -- but at this point in 2011, William Shatner is becoming more metal than ever. And even at his age of 80, there seems to be no stopping the once Captain of the USS Enterprise, for this year he will be releasing a metal album, as we reported on several weeks ago. To acknowledge his efforts not only towards his current album project, entitled Seeking Major Tom, but also for his entire epic career, William Shatner will next month be awarded the Honorary Headbanger Award at the annual Revolver Awards.

The Revolver Golden Gods is an awards ceremony to recognize all metal, held every year. The Honorary Headbanger Award is handed out to someone who is not necessarily seen as being in the metal community, but embodies the spirit of metal. With his upcoming album featuring collaborative efforts with numerous metal artists, and his long career in Star Trek and acting in other roles over the years, Shatner is an artist of determination who continually breaks down the doors of what people think he should do (or if people just think it to be... odd) [...]

Music Review: Whitesnake ‘Forevermore’

Whitesnake
Forevermore
Produced by David Coverdale, Doug Aldrich, Michael McIntyre
Frontiers Records
U.S: Release: March 29, 2011 (CD/DVD | CD | MP3)
UK Release: April 18, 2011 (CD | MP3)

In the age of the music video, TV in the late 1980s was swamped with big hair and sexy women; examples of both were provided in ample supply by Whitesnake. The band's big-haired lead singer, David Coverdale, provided us at the time with some of the best rock songs, sung by one of the greatest ever rock voices and responsible for some of the filthiest lyrics in rock (anyone remember "Slow Poke Music"?), all as his model girlfriend cavorted semi-naked in the videos.

Forevermore is Whitesnake's 11th studio album and marks a tremendous return to the great songs and songwriting of that time, which got most of us listening in the first place [...]

Deal: Supernatural Seasons 1-5

Posted: 29 Mar 2011 06:25 AM PDT

Supernatural 1-4

I just came upon a great sale over at Amazon -- Seasons 1-5 of the television series Supernatural on DVD are currently discounted 62%-68% off the list price, bringing them into the $18-$20 each range! That's a major deal, considering that if you buy the Season 1-4 bundle it's $173.99, meanwhile if you get them separately, it comes out to only $77.44 total -- that's not that much higher than getting just ONE season on DVD at the regular price!!! Most of the Blu-ray Editions are on sale for only $26-$27 each.

Supernatural Season 1: DVD: $18.99 [62% off] | Blu-ray $25.99 [48% off]
Supernatural Season 2: DVD: $19.49 [68% off]
Supernatural Season 3: DVD: $19.49 [68% off] | Blu-ray $26.99 [61% off]
Supernatural Season 4: DVD: $19.49 [68% off] | Blu-ray $26.99 [61% off]
Supernatural Season 5: DVD: $19.99 [67% off] | Blu-ray $25.99 [63% off]

As you can see, most of the seasons are drastically discounted (for some reason Season 2 blu-ray isn't available, but everything else is and is on sale). The prices listed here are what was on Amazon at the time of this posting and I didn't see any indication as to when this sale would end. Therefore, it'd be wise to grab these now if you want them […]
