MP3 Album Deal: Foo Fighters Greatest Hits

Posted: 01 Apr 2011 05:28 AM PDT

Foo Fighters Greatest Hits

The MP3 album deal of the day over at Amazon today is Foo Fighters Greatest Hits for only $3.99.

Note, this deal is only for today, Friday, April 1, 2011, until midnight PST.

This 17-song collection from Foo Fighters features an exclusive track, a cover of Pink Floyd's "Have a Cigar," not sold anywhere else.

The album contains hits like "Everlong," "Learn To Fly," "My Hero," "Monkey Wrench," and "Breakout."

Math time: The songs on this album typically sell for $.99 - $1.29 each and I just named five songs worth having, which right there justifies the cost. If you're already a fan of the Foo Fighters, then this is a great chance to grab this collection for a severely discounted price and also get the exclusive track; if you're not familiar with the band, which is fronted by former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl, then this is the perfect opportunity to check them out [...]

Wait, What? ‘American Pie’ Star Jason Biggs Is The Voice Of Leonardo In New CG ‘Ninja Turtles’

Posted: 31 Mar 2011 07:17 PM PDT

Back when Nickelodeon purchased the rights to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise back in 2009 for $60 million, we knew that a new live-action movie and a CG-animated TV show based on the turtles was on the way.

We haven't seen much from the movie yet, but not too long ago some footage and the first image from the upcoming animated series arrived online (you can see it at right). The reactions to that seemed to be mixed, many unsure how they felt about the new look. And uncertainty in the show grows a little bit more with the announcement that American Pie star Jason Biggs will be voicing Leonardo.

I don't know about you, but I have a lot of trouble imagining Leo voiced by Mr. Biggs. Maybe it'll work out in the end, but surely a strange casting just going off initial impression of the news. [...]

An actor has been chosen to play one of the villains in the upcoming remake of Total Recall, and that actor looks like it will be Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston, who's currently in negotiations for the role.

The movie is a remake of the 1990 movie of the same name, which is based on the Philip K. Dick story We Can Remember It for You Wholesale. It follows a man named Douglas Quaid who takes a vacation of the mind to the planet Mars, but when he suspects his memories have been corrupted in hopes of hiding his own reality he ventures to the planet for real, causing him to uncover some very big secrets and leading him to question what is real and what is all in his mind.

Cranston will play Vilos Cohaagen, who was played in the original film by Ronny Cox. He joins Colin Farrell, who has already been cast in the lead role of Douglas Quaid that was originally played by Arnold Schwarzenegger. [...]

Trust Your Doctor

Gaiman's story is called The Doctor's Wife and it will be the fourth episode in Series 6 (Season 6 for those of us in the U.S.).

The trailer for the upcoming season was released yesterday and upon viewing, Gaiman wrote on his Facebook page: "There are eight shots from my episode in here (and some dialogue!)." [...]

Jimmy Fallon To Become Virtual Host For The Universal Studios Hollywood Tour

Posted: 31 Mar 2011 08:36 AM PDT

Universal Studios Hollywood has officially announced that Jimmy Fallon will be their brand new virtual host on the famed Studio Tour, which over 150 million people have taken part in.

Fallon will be introducing and setting up videos that will play on the new HD screens that are now part of the tram cars after some major high-tech upgrades were unleashed on the park, including the insane new 3D King Kong experience.

On his new gig, Fallon said, "We really had fun with filming my role. We brought some writers out from our show and added some jokes, more play with the Studio Tour guides, the tram drivers and we added a song or two. The tour itself is a classic, a really great experience. For anyone with any interest in show business, it's all there: the glamor, the glitz, all the hard work that goes into making a movie or a TV show can be experienced on the Universal Studios Hollywood Studio Tour. I'm very happy to be a part of it." [...]
