MP3 Album Deal: Fleetwood Mac

Posted: 01 May 2011 06:02 AM PDT

Fleetwood Mac

The MP3 album deal of the day over at Amazon today is the 1975 self-titled album by the classic rock band Fleetwood Mac for only $3.99.

Note, this deal is only for today, Sunday, May 1, 2011, til midnight PST.

Fleetwood Mac was the first album for the band after singer Stevie Nicks and singer/guitarist Lindsey Buckingham joined and their contributions are prominent on the record, especially on what became two of their most popular songs, "Rhiannon" and "Landslide," both written and performed by Stevie Nicks.

Math time: Typically, MP3 songs sell for $.99 each, which means in order for the $3.99 sale to be worth it for the buyer, there has to be at least four songs on the album worth having. In this case, the entire album is worth having and listening to, but here's the four: "Rhiannon," "Landslide," Monday Morning," and "Say You Love Me." [...]

Dealing With The Daily On iPad

The Daily

Publishers have been trying for a while now to find a way to survive the onslaught of free information available on the web. Many magazines and newspapers have folded, for good, and others have been able to survive as websites, and still others continue to straddle the line both in print and on the internet.

Some publishers see the new tablet craze as a potential way to survive, or better yet to reinvent themselves. Up to now the most popular attempt has come from a company called Zinio. Zinio offers up digital versions of many of the most popular magazines that were once exclusives to magazine racks. The price is lower than their print counterparts and the digital experience offers a slick and cool way to read magazines as well as the ability to carry many magazines on the go all inside a tablet. Media magnate Rupert Mrudoch has jumped into the this new frontier in a big way with his new daily digital newspaper called aptly enough, The Daily. [...]

Title Of Quentin Tarantino’s Spaghetti Western Movie Revealed

Posted: 30 Apr 2011 04:25 PM PDT

Back in early March rumors began to swirl that Quentin Tarantino's next movie would be a spaghetti western -- glorious news for any fan of the director's work familiar with his many influences. The word was that his Inglourious Basterds star Christoph Waltz would be starring, and that the cast might also feature the likes of star Franco Nero, Keith Carradine, and Treat Williams.

Now a picture has been sent out via Twitter of what looks like the first page of Tarantino's script, apparently confirming that the title of the new movie will be Django Unchained. This was later confirmed by IndieWire who contacted Tarantino's agency about the image.

Also confirmed was Waltz's inclusion in the cast, where he'll team up with a former slave named Django to fight an evil plantation owner and save his wife. It has not yet been confirmed if Nero, star of the 1966 Sergio Corbucci-directed Django, Carradine, or Williams are also part of the cast or not. [...]

Must See: What Your Zombie-Proof House Should Look Like

Posted: 30 Apr 2011 02:12 PM PDT

Not much needs to be said about this one. Basically, someone in Warsaw, Poland decided to build a 100% zombie-proof house -- you know, just in case the devastating plague we've seen play out so many times in movies, TV shows, comic books, and video games ever actually happens.

The shocking thing about the house is that it's actually really nice when it's not in zombie-proof mode -- where it just looks like a big box -- and many folks would happily live here. That said, considering an actual zombie outbreak is known as a fictional event (at the moment, anyway), is the price tag worth the novelty?

Click on over to the other side to see the images for yourself and read about the design.

Here's a description of some of the house's features and how they work. You can see more images and read more about the house by heading to All That Is Interesting (via Daily Dead). [...]
