Check Out The Teaser Trailer For ‘Snow White And The Huntsman’

Posted: 10 Nov 2011 08:08 PM PST

Snow White And The Huntsman

Yeah, well, that wasn't what we expected.

The first trailer for the upcoming film, Snow White And The Huntsman has been released, and it shockingly looks kind of amazing. Watch the teaser trailer here below.

The film is obviously based on the tale of Snow White, but is very much a revisionist take on the narrative, finding our heroine being hunted down by a woodsman, who ultimately teams up with the titular beauty to take down her evil stepmother [...]

It’s Official: Billy Crystal To Replace Eddie Murphy As Oscar Host

Posted: 10 Nov 2011 04:45 PM PST

Billy Crystal Oscar

In an effort to delete the previous week's events and get things moving in the right direction again, The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced that none other than Billy Crystal, one of the greatest Academy Awards host ever to take the stage, will be returning for a 9th time to replace the recently departed Eddie Murphy.

It was thought that Crystal might be an option after it was reported that he would be involved in the ceremony whether he was hosting or not a while back. [...]

Challengers Of The Unknown Return With ‘DC Universe Presents #6′

Posted: 10 Nov 2011 04:00 PM PST

DC Universe Present #6

DC Comics announced today that there would be a brand new creative team and story arc for the DC Universe Presents title starting with issue #6.

The interesting thing about DC Universe Presents, which is currently focusing on the Paul Jenkins-scripted and Bernard Chang-drawn Deadman story, is that with each arc comes new characters throughout the DC Universe. So, starting with DC Universe Presents #6, Dan DiDio (DC Co-publisher and Co-writer of O.M.A.C. with Keith Giffen) and Jerry Ordway will be taking over the series for a Challengers of the Unknown revival, while Ryan Sook is still on covers. The story details are obviously limited at this point, but from what we do know about previous incarnations of The Challengers is that it will be a team of explorers in the midst of a bizarre and rich science fiction world [...]

In Dark Score Stories, the characters of Bag of Bones are featured in a series of seven photo-journalistic portraits and oral histories that will also provide visitors to the site with a detailed look at the story's setting, Dark Score Lake [...]

3D Blu-ray Review: Chicken Little

Chicken Little 3D Blu-ray

Chicken Little
3D Blu-ray/DVD Combo
Directed by Mark Dindal
Starring Zach Braff, Garry Marshall, Joan Cusack, Steve Zahn, Amy Sedaris, Don Knotts, Patrick Stewart
Walt Disney Pictures Home Entertainment
Release Date: November 8, 2011

Is the Chicken Little 3D Blu-ray the end of the world, as we know it?

Chicken Little falls into that same mediocre Disney animated film category as Meet The Robinsons and Bolt and the more recent Mars Needs Moms. The movie proves that good animation can only get you so far. Without a compelling story, enjoyable characters, or good jokes, the film ultimately falls flat. The heart and storytelling of Pixar are sorely missed in Chicken Little, which relies too much on outdated references and animal gags that don't entirely make sense in the world they've built [...]

Comic Review: The Sixth Gun #16

Sixth Gun 16

The Sixth Gun #16
Written by Cullen Bunn
Art by Brian Hurtt
Colors by Bill Crabtree
Letters by Douglas E. Sherwood
Design by Keith Wood
Oni Press
Release Date: October 26th, 2011
Cover Price: $3.99

Much to the chagrin of two of my very good friends, who've been trying to get me to read this book for months, this was the first time that I've read The Sixth Gun. I have to admit, right off the bat, they were right. It's, let's just say, unique. And not in a weird or strange way, I mean it literally. I've never read a comic quite like this before.

Keeping in mind that this was the first time I've read this book, overall The Sixth Gun #16 was very enjoyable. This issue was part five of a story arc, but, for the most part, I was still able to understand what was going on. There were a few spots were I was a little confused, but nothing that kept me from having a great time reading this book […]

Hannibal Lecter

If there has ever been a pairing more interesting than this one, I have yet to hear about it.

Deadline is reporting that the newly launched Gaumont International Television has sold an hour-long drama series to NBC. Entitled Hannibal, the show is penned and produced by TV juggernaut Bryan Fuller, and is based around the hugely iconic pop culture entity, Hannibal Lecter [...]

Trailer For ‘Journey 2: The Mysterious Island’

Posted: 10 Nov 2011 08:01 AM PST

It's hard to argue when expectations are lived up to, no matter how low.

The first trailer for the upcoming sequel Journey 2: The Mysterious Island has hit, and it looks like utter garbage. Starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Josh Hutcherson, and follows the story of an adventurer who teams with his stepfather to hunt down his grandfather, who himself is lost on a mysterious island. See, it all comes together [...]

Eddie Murphy Out As Oscars Host; Brian Grazer To Replace Brett Ratner As Producer

Posted: 10 Nov 2011 07:00 AM PST

Oscars

What a crazy story this has become.

Just yesterday it was reported that Brett Ratner had stepped down as a producer of the 84th annual Academy Awards ceremony after a gay slur and other poor speaking decisions rightfully saw him in boiling water. At the time it appeared that Eddie Murphy---Ratner's choice to host the awards---would still be taking on the job, but the Academy was now on a desperate search for a replacement producer. [...]
