Netflix Review: Stephen Fry In America

Stephen Fry

Stephen Fry In America
Netflix Streaming
DVD | Blu-ray
Directed by John-Paul Davidson and Michael Waldman
Starring Stephen Fry, Morgan Freeman, Ted Turner, Jimmy Wales
BBC
Originally Released: November 17, 2008

Stephen Fry has become quite popular among the Internet Generation in the United States, and it was with great delight that I noticed Netflix had finally released his documentary miniseries, Stephen Fry In America, to their streaming catalog.

Known among many of our readers as the delicious and mischievous liberal media identity from V for Vendetta, I find it extremely agreeable that many of my American peers are beginning to discover a lot of Fry's other work, from his comedy days with Hugh Laurie, to his current and ongoing panel series from the BBC called QI [...]

I love Pixar movies. And I don't just mean that loosely; I mean I truly and honestly LOVE Pixar movies. From that first wide-eyed viewing of Toy Story back in 1995 to today, they've released some of the best (and some of my own personal favorite) movies of all time.

Even my least favorite Pixar movie---2006's Cars---is a movie I still very much enjoy, despite the fact that I went in thinking I wouldn't be a fan (shame on me for thinking such things about a Pixar flick). [...]

‘Gotham City Impostors’ Gets A Release Date and Beta

Posted: 11 Nov 2011 04:02 PM PST

Gotham City Impostors

The team behind the upcoming first-person shooter Gotham City Impostors announced on Thursday that the game would be getting an open beta starting in December before their scheduled release date for the Playstation Network, XBox Live, and the PC on January 10, 2012.

The upcoming game will be based around the storyline of David Hine, Scott McDaniel, and Andy Owens' short run of Detective Comics #866-870 which told the story of Gotham City being overrun by two feuding gangs, one that was influenced by The Joker, and one that was influenced by The Batman. The Jokerz began committing harmless crimes against society for the pure idea of having fun, but at the expense of others to the point where they became out of control, which led to a group of policemen and concerned citizens to take the law into their own hands when they mobilized far enough to take the lives of the other gangs. The story is quite good as an out of continuity comic story, so if you haven't read it, check it out [...]

It feels like only yesterday that Toy Story first came out and changed the world of movies as we know them. A fully-animated feature film? Absolutely unheard of! But it did happen, eventually, and computer animated movies have become a staple of modern day cinema. [...]

Aspen Comics
Release Date: November 2, 2011
Cover Price: $2.50

When the first page of a comic has someone buying beer, you just know it's going to be a good read. Dead Man's Run #0 has just that...of course, there is way more to it than that. It's the prison break from Hell, literally. Our main guide through this short ride is Captain Romero, a man who is definitely no saint. Many references to his past are made, but none explain it. Mysterious, ashen-faced female Wardens and demonic Generals also add to the Hellish scene that we witness within the City of Corruption, located under the Pyramid. Sadly, the story pauses just as it gets started...but we all expect that in issue #0, right? [...]
