Boxing legend "Smokin" Joe Frazier Dies at 67

Boxing legend "Smokin" Joe Frazier, who fought Muhammad Ali three times in an epic rivalry, died on Monday (November 7) after battling liver cancer. He was 67.


Joe, who is a slugger in the ring, delivered a knocked down on Muhammad Ali in the 15th and final round in their March 1971 title fight at Madison Square Garden. Joe Frazier won the undisputed heavyweight title with a 15-round decision over Ali. He became the first fighter to defeat Muhammad Ali and it was labeled as "The Fight of the Century"!

The rivalry continues with Ali winning the second fight back in 1974 and their last historic battle, the 1975's "Thrilla in Manila" held in Quezon City, Philippines. Ali mock Frazier by calling him as "The Gorilla". Ali won the third and last battle after Frazier's trainer Eddie Futch wouldn't let Joe go out for the 15th and final round.

The former heavyweight champ is a gold medalist at the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo and was a former undisputed heavyweight champion from Febraury 1970 until January 1973. He finished his professional career 32-4-1 with 27 knockouts.

Puss in Boots conquers “Tower Heist” thieves at the box office

'Puss in Boots' continues to charmed the moviegoers as it claimed first place for the second straight weekend.

Disappointing results from Universal's "Tower Heist" starring Ben Stiller and Eddie Murphy as it grossed only $25.1 million, capturing the No. 2 spot, while the Warner Bros. sequel "A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas" scored $13 million at No. 3.

Dr.Conrad Murray Guilty in Michael Jackson's death; MJ's parents Statement "Justice has finally been served!"

Dr. Conrad Murray was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the drug overdose death of Michael Jackson.


After deliberating for two days by the twelve jurors, they finally reached the verdict Monday (November 7) in L.A. convicting Conrad Murray of being negligent in his use of the surgical anesthetic Propofol which contributed-resulted to death of Michael's death on June 25, 2009.

Michael Jackson's parents, Katherine Jackson and Joe Jackson, released a joint statement about t he conviction.
"We have been waiting for this moment for a very long time and we couldn't hold back tears of joy in the courtroom. Even though nothing can bring back our son, justice has finally been served!"

"We can't wait to go home and share this day with Michael's children."
Murray's sentencing is set November 29, 2011 and he's facing a sentence that ranges from probation to a maximum of four years in prison. His medical licenses also in jeopardy.
