Disney World postcard

Dave3 and I are heading off for a much-needed vacation to Disney World in Orlando, FL, and if you remember from last year, we shared our experiences with you along the way and sent out some postcards and souvenirs.

Well, we're doing it again! If you'd like a postcard from us from Disney World, just follow the instructions below to enter this contest. We'll select 25 people at random to receive a postcard (mailed out to you from Disney World) and then one of those winners will receive a special grand prize -- a surprise souvenir from Disney World!

Since we want to actually send the postcards from Disney World, we're making the contest only a few days long, so be sure to enter right away, and DEFINITELY let us know your favorite things about Disney in the contest entry form in the "Optional Comments" section -- this will help us pick out a postcard theme most suited to you (if possible - I'll try my best!).

25 Winners will each receive:

- One (1) Postcard from Disney World

One (1) Grand Prize Winner

- One (1) Disney World Souvenir [...]

George Lucas Says ‘Red Tails’ Is As Close To ‘Star Wars: Episode 7′ As We’ll Get

Posted: 12 Jan 2012 07:43 PM PST

Red Tails

Star Wars creator and master money-maker George Lucas stopped by The Daily Show recently to chat with Jon Stewart about his upcoming WWII passion project, Red Tails. Lucas has been working hard to get the movie made for over two decades now, but, as you'll hear in the video, faced many hurdles in succeeding, including most major studios not wanting to take on a big budget risk with an almost entirely black cast and a movie they didn't think could be marketed in foreign markets. But as always, the conversation found its way to Star Wars as Lucas compared the two, and an interesting announcement was made. [...]

Heavy Metal Presents: Gates Volume 1 – Ascension
Melrose and Vine Records
MP3 Download: U.S. | UK
Released date: August 9, 2011

For over 30 years Heavy Metal -- the sci-fi/fantasy comic -- has graced comic shop shelves with visceral covers featuring Adonis-like men with rippling muscles and svelte, pointy-breasted semi-naked women. This year Heavy Metal has released a soundtrack of metal and electronica to accompany its first web comic: Gates. If that wasn't cool enough, all net proceeds go towards the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up And Shout Cancer Fund [...]

If Imperial Spy Jahan Cross has an operational number, I would not be surprised if it actually was 007. Because the character of "Cross, Jahan Cross..." is very much based upon James Bond, and as much has been said by Dark Horse about this central protagonist of the new Star Wars comic series, Agent Of The Empire.

Espionage storylines aren't anything new in the realm of Star Wars. We've had many characters that have taken on the "spook" roles in the past, including fan favorite Mara Jade [...]

The Lone Ranger

You just can't keep a good franchise starter down.

With the film seemingly on the outs just a matter of months ago, Disney appears hellbent on getting their take on The Lone Ranger into theaters, and now, they have yet another cast member.

Deadline is reporting that James Badge Dale has joined the cast, which at this point includes Armie Hammer, Tom Wilkinson, Ruth Wilson, Dwight Yoakam, Helena Bonham Carter, and Johnny Depp, with Gore Verbinski aboard as director [...]

Schwarzenegger and Stallone Up For ‘The Tomb’?

Posted: 12 Jan 2012 12:01 PM PST

Arnold Schwarzenegger

With his return back to the film world set to truly commence with what appears to be a far loftier role in the upcoming The Expendables 2, it appears as though he, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and his co-star and fellow action icon Sylvester Stallone are looking to team up for even more projects.

Deadline is reporting (and subsequently confirming an earlier AICN rumor) that the pair are in talks to team up for the upcoming movie The Tomb for director Mikael Hafstrom. The film follows a security expert who is framed for a crime and ultimately put away in a prison which he was the one to design its set up [...]

‘Oz: The Great and Powerful’ Tips Hat To ‘The Wizard Of Oz’ With Black & White Opening

The Wizard of Oz

You might have wondered what similarities director Sam Raimi's upcoming prequel Oz: The Great and Powerful would share with The Wizard of Oz, the 1939 classic which preceded it.

Talking to TeenSpot, one of the many stars of the film, Joey King (Ramona and Beezus), shared some details on the production, her character, and some of the things we can expect to see.

The twelve-year-old actress talked about how she's playing Wheelchair Girl/China Girl in the movie (Wheelchair Girl in Kansas and China Girl in Oz, who the Wizard takes in as an adopted child), and how exciting it is to be on such a big budget movie and to actually walk on the Yellow Brick Road. Wow. I didn't think it was possible that Flash Gordon: Zeitgeist #2 could get any better or more exciting than the first issue. Yet, the creative team proved me wrong. I think it's a secret plot by them and Dynamite to get us all to wet our pants with excitement. And, it's working.

If licensed comics got the respect they deserved, writer Eric Trautman would be a superstar [...]
