It Came From the Interwebs: Stabby Eagles, Gnome Rescue, Community, Tenacious D Posted: 20 May 2012 12:30 PM PDT With a jetpack fueled by insomnia and an easily amused mind, It Came From The Interwebs scours and sifts through everything that has ever appeared on the internet (more or less) to find a few things that you should know about every week. These things come from the interwebs, hence the clever name. This week, we return from riding on the back of Falcor to bring you the time lord jedi ninja of web junk columns, featuring: a stabby eagle, fruit rape, board game movie mashups, and another Lazy Sunday [...]
‘Community’ Creator Dan Harmon Fired As Showrunner By Sony Posted: 20 May 2012 11:24 AM PDT So much for six seasons and a movie. One day after the final three episodes of Community's third and most tumultuous season aired on NBC - and about a week after the news of its renewal for an abbreviated fourth season hit the Interwebs - Sony Pictures Television announced that the show's creator Dan Harmon would not be returning next season in his current position as showrunner. Harmon soon after took to his Tumblr blog to clear up any misconceptions Community's fan base might have regarding this surprising development [...]
Winterfell Tops Andy’s List Of Places To Live On ‘Parks & Recreation’ Posted: 20 May 2012 08:55 AM PDT In the season 4 finale of Parks and Recreation, titled "Win, Lose, or Draw," we finally find out if City Council candidate Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler) wins the election against spoiled rich boy Bobby Newport (Paul Rudd). All season long, Leslie's friends at the Pawnee Parks Department, including the young married couple Andy Dwyer (Chris Pratt) and April Ludgate (Aubrey Plaza), have been helping out with the campaign. On election day, back at the Parks Department, April accidentally deletes all the department files from the computers. Thinking there's no hope for retrieving the lost data, Andy comforts his wife by telling her they can leave Pawnee and start their lives over somewhere else. Busting out a Sharpie, Andy makes a list of "Places To Live," which includes areas like Chicago and the Florida Everglades; countries like Greenland and Germany; and the Moon, as well as some other familiar destinations: Winterfell, Pegasus, and New Caprica. Check out the screenshot of the "Places To Live" list from the episode here below [...]
Watch Kristen Wiig’s Musical Farewell On ‘SNL’ Posted: 20 May 2012 07:40 AM PDT Last night's Saturday Night Live apparently marked Kristen Wiig's final episode as a regular cast member, and with a little help from host Mick Jagger, the comedian got an emotional, musical send-off from her fellow cast members and SNL producer Lorne Michaels. The last skit of the episode showed the Rolling Stones frontman speaking at a high school graduation, where he calls up Wiig for a special farewell, congratulating her after "7 years." As the Stones tune "She's A Rainbow" begins to play, Wiig takes off her cap and gown, and her cast members one-by-one take the stage to dance with her. With the help of one of the musical guests, Arcade Fire, the cast and guests all sing "Ruby Tuesday," with Wiig teary-eyed as people like former cast member Amy Poehler and her Bridesmaids co-star Mad Men's Jon Hamm came on stage. You can watch the farewell here below [...]
