Frank Grillo Tested For Crossbones

It only feels like the rumor that Frank Grillo would play Crossbones in Captain America: The Winter Soldier surfaced last week. Maybe that's because it was last week. So today, there is confirmation that Grillo will be playing as the skilled marksman in the sequel to Captain America: The First Avenger. But what does this mean for the titular villain?

Rumors of Grillo testing for Crossbones came about when the actor tweeted some Marvel Studios related material along with the hashtag Captain America – these tweets were later deleted. [...]

Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters Header

These past few years we've been seeing an interesting twist on childhood fairytales. Red Riding Hood and Snow White and the Huntsman are perhaps the most interesting of the latest Hollywood trend, but neither match the overall silliness and absurdity that is Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters.

The first trailer had poor CGI, Gatling guns in medieval times, and cheesy lines. This new red-band trailer seems to be focused on the humor and the plot of the film – if you can really call it a plot. [...]

Tom Cruise Travels The World Conceptualizing ‘Mission: Impossible 5′

Posted: 29 Oct 2012 02:30 PM PDT

It may be a while before we see Mission: Impossible 5 head into production, but we will see Tom Cruise emulate the Ethan Hunt character through different films. But that doesn't mean that the actor hasn't stopped thinking about how to extend the franchise hit, and since Mission: Impossible: Ghost Protocol was a hit, there wasn't any doubt that a fifth film was on the way.

Considering no one has been hired to write the script and Ghost Protocol director Brad Bird said that it was unlikely he would return to direct for a second time, production for Mission: Impossible 5 has stalled. [...]

Art by Adam Bolton
Archaia Entertainment
Release Date: September 26, 2012
Cover Price: $11.95

Just in time for Halloween, comic publisher Archaia has got something perfect for all the little horror fiends in your life. Part board game, part illustrated book, Where's My Shoggoth? is a charming all-ages homage to the elder gods and their world-crushing friends.

There is an interesting phenomenon that occurs when someone sets out to write a kids book that is also scary. Typically, the end result is either too grotesque for any kid other than a young Michael Myers to enjoy or so kid-friendly that ghosts and ghouls start resembling house pets. [...]

The Neon Graveyard marks the end of a six-book series, which started with The Scent of Shadows, all about the agents of Light and Darkness and their eternal battle. Figured prominently in the midst of all of this is Joanna Archer, someone who is traditionally thought of as The Kairos, or the only successful blending of Dark and Light, born out of a union of an agent of the Light who needed to get close to a the primary antagonist of the series, the Tulpa, also known as Joanna's father.

Release Date: October 25, 2012
Cover Price $14.99

Everyone has bad days. We all recognize this in the abstract, that bad days are a universal experience. However, a bad day is also very personal, a solitary experience that leads us to say such self-centered things like: "why this happening to me" and "it's not fair," while rebuffing commiseration from others by declaring "You don't understand!" This experience is the premise of The Very Frustrated Monster, latest in the series of WorryWoo monsters books by Andi Green. Each book in the series follow a different WorryWoo creature with a particular emotional problem, like confusion or insecurity. [...]
