‘The Muppets 2′ Update: Bret McKenzie Returns To Write Songs; Film Hits Theaters Next Dec.

Bret McKenzie & Kermit

It wouldn't be much of a Muppets movie without a few original songs and last year Bret McKenzie of Flight of the Conchords wrote almost all of the songs for last year's The Muppets - and has an Academy Award to show for it. Now Collider reports that he is coming back to write new songs for The Muppets 2, which is said to feature a crime caper plot. Though no major stars are attached to the film, Christoph Waltz is in talks to appear as an Interpol inspector. James Bobin, who co-wrote the script with Nicholas Stoller, will direct.

Production is set to begin in January in Pinewood Studios in England for a December 2013 release. No doubt Disney wants to capitalize on the same success it had when The Muppets opened in theaters around the Thanksgiving Holiday. No doubt the studio is looking to avoid the box office onslaught that The Hunger Games: Catching Fire will cause during the Thanksgiving holiday, so a winter holiday release seemed like the second-best option [...]

Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher All Open To Returning For ‘Star Wars: Episode 7′

Star Wars Luke, Leia, Han Image

The general consensus among Star Wars fans when talking about the recently announced Star Wars: Episode VII seems to be that the movie's best chance for success would be to distance itself from the storylines and characters of the previous six movies, and start fresh. Still, considering that they were not able to appear in the prequel trilogy, there's no denying that many of those same fans would likely be excited to see their favorite characters make an appearance.

And, according to one "highly placed" source, Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, and Carrie Fisher are all open to returning for the movie, should there be need for Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, and Princess Leia, of course. "Harrison is open to the idea of doing the movie and he's upbeat about it, all three of them are," the source said. [...]

NSFW ‘Maniac’ Trailer: Gaze Into Elijah Wood’s Terrifying Eyes

Manaic

The first trailer for Franck Khalfoun's Maniac showed just how dark and sadistic Elijah Wood can get. The film is a remake of the 1980s version of the same name, but this time features the kills from the character's point of view. In the film, Wood plays a psychopathic killer who takes the scalps of his victims and attaches them to the mannequins he creates. Check out the trailer below.

Once again, this trailer is very brutal and very bloody, so if you are not comfortable with graphic depictions of violence and nudity, I suggest you turn back now. Otherwise, enjoy the trailer [...]

Fallout: Lanius

From the hearts and souls of gamers, geeks, and nerds come some of the greatest fan films ever. And thanks to fundraising sites like Indiegogo, now those who cannot create can donate! Fallout: Lanius is one of those fan films that will be head and shoulders above the rest. With a totally achievable goal of $10,000, this origin story of Legate Lanius is going to be spectacular! Remember Lanius is the primary big baddie from Fallout: New Vegas and this is all about explaining who he is and why he turned out the way he did.

Wade K. Savage has written the script and is the director/producer of the film as well. Based in Perth, Australia, Savage and a group of "hardcore Fallout fans" (his words, verbatim) are hellbent on creating a Fallout film of epic proportions. Having won the coveted "Independent Spirit" award at the Night of Horror International Film Festival, he has shown himself to have the skills necessary to render such a masterpiece, especially since he has surrounded himself with others just as skilled and dedicated [...]
