Anne Hathaway on Her Weight Loss: “The idea was to look near death” Posted: 13 Nov 2012 04:26 AM PST Earlier this year, we had a few posts on how Anne Hathaway went on an extreme 600 calories / day diet in order to lose weight for her role in the movie Les Miserables – Anne is still talking about the experience, this time in the December issue of Vogue Magazine: On losing 25 pounds for “Les Misérables:” “I had to be obsessive about it–the idea was to look near death. Looking back on the whole experience–and I don’t judge it in any way—it was definitely a little nuts. It was definitely a break with reality, but I think that's who Fantine is anyway.” On her dramatic pixie haircut: “I love the short-haired lifestyle.
