Disney Set Release Date For ‘Cars’ Spin-Off ‘Planes’

Originally planned as a direct-to-video release, Walt Disney has decided to lock in a theatrical release date for their movie Planes, which is inspired by the world of Pixar's Cars, and follows...you guessed it, airplanes.

Disney has reserved the August 9, 2013 spot for the movie, which will be made by DisneyToon Studios, not Pixar. Pixar legend and Cars director John Lasseter, however, will oversee the project, as he does for all DisneyToon and Walt Disney Animation titles. [...]

Released in April 1975 by Columbia Records, Toys in the Attic was the Boston band's third album, and it would soon go on to become the biggest-selling album of their four decade recording career, unless you count their eleven-times-platinum Greatest Hits compilation from 1980. The record spawned two hit singles that would become the band's most iconic tunes - "Walk This Way," written by lead singer Steven Tyler and lead guitarist Joe Perry and inspired by a viewing of Mel Brooks' comedy classic Young Frankenstein, and their whiskey-smooth paean to young lovin' and hell raisin' "Sweet Emotion," penned by Tyler with bassist Tom Hamilton. Geek Peek: Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Martin Freeman In First Image From Edgar Wright’s ‘The Worlds End’

The first image from the highly anticipated new movie from writer/director Edgar Wright, titled The World's End, has been released online.

The movie is the third film in Wright's Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy, which all star Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. The first two titles were of course Shaun of the Dead, and Hot Fuzz.

The new image shows Pegg, Frost, current Bilbo Baggins Martin Freeman, Paddy Considine, and Eddie Marsan, who, judging by the plot of the movie, are hanging out at some kind of drinking establishment. [...]
