"I have a weird mental block every time I go shopping that means I forget what I already own the moment I cross the threshold into the store. My relationship with my denim hot pants is incredibly special. Eyeliner aside, sometimes I go crazy and add a red lip to my make-up look, but it has to be a very special occasion."

"Looking effortless takes a lot of effort. When I get new Converse I dedicate some time at home to shoving mud on them so they don't look squeaky clean."

"Having to watch yourself age on a giant movie screen is simply not natural. It can wreak havoc on your psyche. My dermatologist said to me once, 'You know that 10X magnifying mirror that you have in the bathroom? Throw it away.' It was the best advice anybody ever gave me. Of course, now my eyes are weaker and I can't see to put my makeup on without that mirror! But once you get over a certain hump there actually is less pressure. You can begin to look great for your age. You don't have to look young anymore. I've moved over to that other side — I'm 55, which is a little too close to 60, but looking great for my age is okay now."

Here’s pregnant Kim Kardashian (who is currently blonde, see here) in a strange spread in CR Fashion Book, where the reality star is labeled ‘Miss USA’ while showing off her baby bump and golden teeth. Here’s what the editor has to say about this shoot:

Roitfeld spun the prenatal images as a "precious moment of Kim's pregnancy that people haven't seen" — and the ideal tribute to the issue's theme of hope. "Pregnancy is something that I always love. It's about hope and the future and a new baby," she explained.

Roitfeld was careful to distinguish CR Fashion Book from the celebrity weeklies that rabidly track the Kardashian clan's quotidian activities. "This is not something for a gossip magazine that goes into the trash. This is a magazine that is a collector's item," she claimed.
